Service Area Located west of 33 Street S.W., between Bow Trail and 17 Avenue, Westbrook Station will primarily serve the communities of Spruce Cliff, Rosscarrock, and Killarney. Station Design Westbrook Station is unique from all other stations on the West LRT: it is the first underground station on the CTrain network and the only station that doesn't run east to west. Station design features include "light cannons", large skylights which deliver natural light to the station area from above. Passengers will be able to access the station from both north and south station heads at ground level. The north station head will be located inside a building in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) site which will eventually occupy the grounds surrounding the station. This building is planned to eventually include a public library. Surrounding Area As part of a TOD site, plans for the area around Westbrook Station include a multi-modal transit hub and plaza, housing, a range of small to mid-size retail stores, and a public open space for community gatherings. The Westbrook Station is unique because it represents the first time that an Area Redevelopment Plan and a new CTrain alignment were developed in conjunction in Calgary. Visit the Westbrook ARP page for more information. This station is a walk-on station, which means there will not be a Park and Ride nearby. Calgary Transit Patrons will arrive at the station by Calgary Transit buses, walking, cycling or by private vehicle. Westbrook Station will facilitate quicker and more direct access to local attractions including Westbrook Mall, Westbrook Village (a future TOD), and a Bus Rapid Transit line to Mount Royal University.
