The first level will open to Calgary Board of Education employees prior to the fall semester beginning. The top three floors (approx. 750 stalls) will open to Calgary Transit patrons once the West LRT opens for revenue service. Westside Recreation Centre - Skateboard ParkThe City permanently removed these facilities in preparation for West LRT construction. Westside Recreation Centre will begin construction on the new skateboard park and hard court at a new location south of the building in 2010 and open for use this year. |
The 69 Street Station is located directly underneath 69 Street S.W. in an open trench. Calgary Transit patrons can access the station on the east or west side of 69 Street S.W. without crossing the intersection. It will open for revenue service in December 2012. Calgary Transit patrons will arrive at the station by Calgary Transit buses, walking, cycling, or by private vehicle. A four-level Parkade will provide between 700-800 parking stalls for Transit patrons. As well, a surface parking lot east of 69 Street S.W. will offer short term, long term, hadicapped parking and a designated drop-off area. Highlights of the station include the Parkade and the Park and Ride area that (combined) can accommodate more than 800 vehicles and a bus terminal. The 69 Street Station is directly adjacent to Westside Recreation Centre, Ambrose College, and the future West Calgary High School.
