Service Area
This station at the intersection of 45 Street and 17 Avenue S.W. will primarily serve the residents of Rosscarrock, Westgate, Glendale and Glenbrook. The LRT will be constructed in a trench with bridges at 42 Street and 45 Street to maintain access to 17 Avenue S.W. for the adjacent communities.

The station will now be located on the west side of 45 Street S.W. in front of the Alberta Motor Association building. Calgary Transit patrons will access the station at the intersection of 17 Avenue and 45 Street or 47 Street S.W.

Design
The station features design elements including a steel structure frame, copper roof, laminated douglas fir-larch wood beams, and glass panels. The canopy of the station is approximately five metres high at its highest point.

The station roof and walls form an elliptical shape resembling a snow drift, with the north side of the station "hunched" to provide protection from winds while opening additional surface area to the south for sunshine. The south facing side of the station features a sunshade, which will help temper the hot sun and give a dappled appearance.

Surrounding Area
The area surrounding the station will include features such as patterned pedestrian crossings, a new 2.5-metre-wide pathway for cyclists and pedestrians, and bus bays.

The station will be walk-on, meaning it will not include a Park and Ride facility. Calgary Transit patrons will arrive at the community station by Calgary Transit buses, walking, cycling or by private vehicles.

45 Street Station will facilitate quicker and more direct access to many schools, businesses, churches and parks within walking distance of the station.
