Relocating Ernest Manning High School allows Transit Oriented Development (TOD) to take place in the West LRT's Westbrook station area. It also creates a more modern high school beside the 69th Street S.W. Station in an area that includes other academic, recreational and commercial facilities. The Province of Alberta and The City of Calgary are jointly funding the new West Calgary High School with each partner contributing $30 million towards the $60 million project. While designing and constructing the school, The City, who is responsible for constructing the new high school, will work closely with the CBE on their building requirements and facility guidelines. |
