Shaganappi Point Golf Course is open for play

Newly reconfigured along the West LRT line, the Shaganappi Point Golf Course offers both 18-hole and late day 9's bookings suited for intermediate level golfers. Once the line is in service, transit riders will be able to travel to this par 68 course from downtown in just over 5 minutes.

To accommodate the West LRT line, Shaganappi Point Golf course underwent a major renovation in 2009 that saw realignments of five of the Front 9 holes and one of the Valley 9 holes, as well as pond enhancements and the installation of additional trees along the course.

Overall the new design has been well received. The Shaganappi Point website quotes a player's review:

"The Front 9 is beautiful and fun to play. A great job was done in adding trees, rocks, etc. The "rolling' greens are a nice addition as are the paved pathways. #1 is fun and with the suggested landing area, an approach onto the green is a reasonable shot and there is the option of playing to the right of the water and then onto the green. #7 looks nice with the additional trees on the right of the fairway."
