Through 2012 and 2013, the West LRT construction zone will be landscaped back as close as possible to its original look. More than 1,700 trees and other plantings will revitalize the construction zone along Bow Trail, 17 Avenue S.W. and Sarcee Trail.

Through fall 2011, the West LRT project team began meeting with community representatives to review landscaping concepts. Public open houses were held on  January 25 and 26, 2012, where members of the public had an opportunity to see and comment on the proposed landscaping design. On Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, The City hosted a public open house at the Rosscarrock Community Hall to showcase the new West LRT alignment (west of 38th Street S.W.), and the new 45 Street Station design and location. The new design is the result of Council's decision on Oct. 5, 2009, to lower the 45 Street Station below ground in an open trench, which eliminates a groundlevel crossing at 42nd Street and 45th Street on 17th Avenue S.W.
